In motorsport, every detail counts. It is precisely this idea that gave rise to our collaboration with Alessio Tani, which began with the aim of bringing our 3D-printed karting components to the track.

Over the last few months, we have been working on the development of protective pads for the chassis, designed to protect the kart’s tubes in the most critical situations during races and free practice sessions when the chassis comes into contact with kerbs or uneven tarmac.

The unique feature of the project is its production via 3D printing, which allows us to rapidly develop new solutions, test different geometries and optimise materials directly on the race track.

Rigid and flexible swabs: two solutions, one goal

The range developed for karts includes:

  • rigid underbody pads, which are universal and easy to fit. Perfect for those who want to maintain a very low ride height even on very bumpy tracks.

  • flexible pads, designed to protect the tubes from any kind of rubbing. Their flexibility makes them very versatile and easy to fit, even in areas that are not usually protected.

The aim is simple: to reduce wear and protect the most exposed parts of the chassis without compromising on practicality and lightness.

Having the opportunity to test these components directly in competition represents a crucial step in product development for us.

The debut in Cervia – Italian Cup Zone 2 🇮🇹

The first real test came during the race weekend at Cervia for the Coppa Italia Zona 2.

It was a new track for Alessio, but right from Saturday’s practice sessions, he felt immediately at ease. Various set-up adjustments were made, yielding excellent lap times, even on fresh tyres.

Sunday, however, did not get off to the best start: an electrical problem in qualifying forced Alessio to start from 15th position.

Despite this, the weekend demonstrated great competitiveness and an excellent ability to fight back:

  • Race 1 finished in 9th place after a fine comeback;

  • Race 2 also finished in 9th place, despite an incident at the front of the field causing him to lose ground in the early stages.

It was not an easy weekend, but a very important one for gathering data, confirming the good work done and continuing the development of our components directly under real race conditions.

Development continues

Our collaboration with Alessio Tani will continue throughout the rest of the season, with the aim of further improving the components and taking them to an ever more competitive level.

For us, seeing products designed and 3D-printed being put to the test in the real-world environment of motorsport is incredibly inspiring: every race becomes an opportunity to evolve, refine and innovate.

The work continues 🔥
